Exploring the Frio River
Explore the Frio, Your Way
One of the most unforgettable ways to experience the Frio River is to float it—slow, scenic, and soul-soothing. Many guests team up with trusted local outfitters like:
- Happy Hollow Frio River Outfitters
- Andy’s on River Road
Prefer hiking boots to water shoes? Garner State Park is just around the bend, offering day passes for trails, swimming holes, and classic Hill Country views. A local favorite is Crystal Cave via Horseshoe Canyon and Bridges Trail Loop.
Just down the road is Magers Crossing a Pitmaster favorite for riverside picnics and laid-back lounging. If you’re craving wide-open vistas and fewer crowds, Chalk Bluff Park delivers—about 30 minutes away and worth every mile.
There’s more nearby too—hidden gems and Hill Country highlights, all within a short drive from Pitmaster RV Park. Ask us for directions or guest-favorite spots!
